November 20, 2025Jean Cooper Rose, Senior Counsel for Nationwide Insurance on the Commercial Line of Business Team for Trial Division. She joined Nationwide six years ago. Her focus lies in handling commercial and PIP claims across the country. Jean’s expertise allows her to identify and evaluate potential legal risks and exposures in these specialized areas.
In collaboration with the trial attorney, Jean devises practical and effective solutions to intricate legal issues. She also works closely with the claims technical team to strategize resolutions. Jean’s contributions extend to providing training opportunities for the attorneys within Nationwide Trial Division and Claims teams.
Jean has over 25 years of legal experience. Before joining Nationwide, she was in private practice where she represented Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of civil litigations, from catastrophic bodily injury and wrongful death cases to antitrust class actions. Jean has also served as a Legal Writing Instructor for her alma mater Brooklyn Law School.
In addition, Jean is an active member of several professional associations, including the Association of Corporate Counsel in which she serves on the Women & Gender Group Steering Committee; the Defense Research Institute; co-chair of the National Chapter for the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law and an inaugural executive board member of the New York Chapter for the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law. Jean also serves on the programming and mentoring subcommittee for the Women Empowered Associate Resource Group at Nationwide. Jean is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
Jean has been a participating pro bono attorney for Legal Service of Long Island since March of 2025. She helps families prepare petitions and supporting documents for the 17A Guardianship process through her detail-oriented and empathetic approach.
