August 1, 2024Stuart P. Gelberg graduated the University at Albany in 1977 with a BA, cum laude, and SUNY Buffalo School of Law in 1980 with a JD. He was ad- mitted to practice in New York State and Federal District Courts in 1981; Second Circuit Court of Appeals in 1984; United States Supreme Court and United States Tax Court in 1985; and the United States Court of Military Appeals in 1995. Mr. Gelberg was a Chapter 13 Trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court Eastern District of New York from 1983 to 2007. He is a certified specialist by the American Board of Certification in both consumer and business bankruptcy. He is A-V rated by Martindale Hubbell for 41 years. He is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and New York State Bar Association. In 2008 he was awarded the Thomas Maligno Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award by the Nassau County Bar Association. In 2010 he was awarded the President’s Pro Bono Service Award by the NYS Bar Association. In 2024, he received an award for his pro bono work in 2023 from the Nassau County Bar Association. He has maintained his practice at 600 Old Country Road, Garden City, New York for the last 40 years. Congratulations to Stuart P.
