November 20, 2025Edward Reale, Esq.: After graduating from New York Law School, Ed began his legal career with Westchester Legal Services before moving to Long Island, where he joined Nassau/Suffolk Law Services (now Legal Services of Long Island) as a staff attorney. During his tenure there, he co-founded a nonprofit housing organization dedicated to assisting low and moderate income families on the North Fork. That organization now owns 55 rental units and provides a broad range of housing-related services. Ed has worked continuously as pro bono counsel to the organization to the present.
After leaving Law Services, Ed entered private practice on the East End, where he spent 25 years—most of that time as a partner at Twomey, Latham, Shea & Kelley—concentrating on real estate, zoning, and civil litigation.
He later managed the East End offices of several major real estate brokerage firms. Throughout his career, Ed has remained deeply committed to pro bono work, particularly in advancing affordable housing and community support services. Through Legal Services of Long Island, Ed has provided clients with pro bono services in 17A Guardianship proceedings as well as estates issues.
Congratulations to Edward Reale, Esq. on being honored this month as the Pro Bono Lawyer of the month by the Suffolk County Bar Association.
