As the only provider of comprehensive civil legal services on Long Island, our services support thousands of poor and low-income families and individuals who cannot afford an attorney. With the gap separating those who can and cannot afford legal representation widening each day, we work to ensure that everyone has equal access to justice, regardless of their ability to pay. Legal Services of Long Island has a staff of over one hundred and fifty people situated in three offices across Long Island.
OFFICE LOCATION: Suffolk County (Islandia Office)
DUTIES: Legal Services of Long Island is seeking a full-time bookkeeper in the Islandia office. The position will be in the Accounting Department performing bookkeeping duties, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, cash receipts of records of entry, vouchering for reimbursements of expenses per contracts, and payroll preparation. The assistant bookkeeper will be directly responsible to the Director of Finance and Deputy Director of Finance.
START DATE: Immediate SALARY: $43,040 – $60,000 BENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability (100% of the premium covered by employer), 403b with defined contribution.
REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s degree or certificate in a relevant field and/or bookkeeping experience, knowledge of Excel and Word.
