The National Weather Service has issued a number of cold weather advisories and warnings for our area. In preparation for the incoming cold temperatures, the Health & Welfare Council of Long Island has compiled a list of local resources.

Nassau County Warming Locations and Centers

Nassau County has opened warming centers through February 5. Please check the Health & Welfare Council’s page for up-to-date information.

Suffolk County Warming Locations and Centers

In Suffolk County, warming center openings fall under the jurisdiction of the towns and other localities.

Town Community Centers open during normal operating hours.

UPDATE: If residents have an emergency need for a warming center/shelter they can call the Police Non Emergency Line at 631-728-5000.
